A bus lost control and fell into a ravine on Wednesday night (30), on the PR-090, between São Jerônimo da Serra and Sapopema. According to the State Highway Police (PRE), 11 people died on the spot and another 20 were injured.
According to reports, it is known that some passengers would have been ejected from the vehicle. The bus transported workers from various regions of the country on their way to Telêmaco Borba.
According to PRE, preliminary information is that the bus driver lost control of the steering on a sharp curve. The highway is a single track and it was raining at the time of the accident.
There is also information that the bus would have run out of brakes, but there are no confirmations about the fact, only suspicions of such a fact.
The accident shocked everyone and mobilized rescuers from all over the region, with numerous ambulances, from Sapopema, São Jerônimo da Serra, Curiúva, in addition to ABTR trucks from the Fire Department that helped to help the victims and wounded who were sent to hospitals in the region.
