A truck rollover was reported on Wednesday afternoon, around 2:30 pm, on BR-369, at the well-known "rollover curve," near the entrance to the Congonhas district in Cornélio Procópio.
The vehicle, which was carrying a load of soybeans, ended up overturning on the side of the highway. The driver suffered abrasions and a head injury, and was treated at the scene. Despite the scare, he was conscious and without serious injuries, and will undergo a medical evaluation as a precaution.
In an interview at the scene, the driver's wife, Lidiane, reported that her husband notified her shortly after the accident and she arrived quickly. According to her, the driver had already managed to get out of the truck when she arrived, sustaining only minor injuries.
The causes of the rollover are still unclear, but there is a possibility of cargo shifting or mechanical failure, since the vehicle had already completed the turn before the accident.
Due to the impact, part of the cargo was scattered across the road, requiring extra caution from drivers traveling on that stretch of road. The transport company and the insurance company were contacted to remove the cargo and right the overturned vehicle.
Despite the material damage, the accident did not result in any serious injuries.
