A 31-year-old man was killed this Friday morning (9) after an armed confrontation with police officers in the municipality of Jataizinho (Londrina Metropolitan Region). In addition to the death, two police officers were shot and needed to be taken to Cristo Rei Hospital, in Ibiporã (Londrina Metropolitan Region). The health condition of both is considered stable, and the officers have already been discharged.

The incident occurred around 6 a.m., while authorities were executing an arrest warrant at the suspect's residence.

In a press release, the PMPR (Military Police of Paraná) reported that officers were shot at as they entered the property. "Faced with this unjustified aggression, there was a reaction, and the individual was shot," the corporation stated.

SIATE (Integrated Emergency Trauma Care Service) teams provided medical assistance to the police officers, who were shot in the leg. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man, identified as Lucas Gusmões Froes, was from Feira de Santana (BA) and had a criminal record for robbery, receiving stolen goods, and drug trafficking. There were four outstanding arrest warrants against him.

The weapon used by the accused — a pistol with an extended magazine — was seized by the PCPR (Civil Police of Paraná) and sent, along with the Scientific Police, for forensic analysis.
