On Sunday night (27), a case of possession and firing of a restricted firearm mobilized the Military Police and SAMU in the municipality of Nova Santa Bárbara, in the north of Paraná.

The police team was dispatched via the communications center, with reports of a fight and gunshots at a residence. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found a 67-year-old man lying on the ground with head injuries, next to a .36 caliber shotgun with two spent cartridges. Near a cornfield, a .22 caliber revolver was also found, with seven intact cartridges in the cylinder.

According to the account of a witness, the wife of the shooter, the conflict began around 7 pm, when the couple's 31-year-old son went to the residence to pick up his mother for a medical appointment. At that moment, the father and son began arguing, which culminated in the elderly man firing twice in the direction of his son.

According to the testimony, the shots did not hit the young man. After the second shot, the son allegedly grabbed and pulled the gun, causing the perpetrator to fall to the ground and injure himself on impact.

The SAMU (Mobile Emergency Care Service) team was called to provide assistance to the injured man. After receiving medical attention, those involved were taken to the Civil Police Station, along with the seized weapons, so that the appropriate legal procedures could be followed.
