In the early hours of this Sunday (8), a 58-year-old man was arrested for spreading gasoline around his ex-girlfriend's house and threatening to set it on fire, in Apucarana, northern Paraná. The incident was recorded on Rua Pernambuco, Jardim Apucarana.

According to the PM (Military Police), a team was patrolling Osvaldo Cruz Street when a 42-year-old woman approached and asked for help for her daughter. The woman showed messages from her daughter asking for help after her ex-boyfriend showed up with a gallon of gasoline and threatened to set the house on fire. The victim's children, aged 11, 17 and 23, were also at the scene.

The police immediately went to the scene and confirmed the incident. The man had spilled gasoline all over the house and on a motorcycle, which was also knocked over and damaged.

According to the victim's children, the criminal had a copy of the house keys and entered the place without the family's authorization. Minutes before breaking into the residence, the individual had sent threatening messages to the woman. The perpetrator was arrested and taken to the 17th SDP (Police Subdivision). The Civil Police will investigate the attempted femicide.
