On Thursday night, the Military Police were called after the hospital in Assaí registered the admission of a patient with injuries caused by a bladed weapon.
According to reports, the victim stated that she went to a residential property to discuss matters related to renting the place. During the conversation with the resident, structural problems in the residence were mentioned. At a certain point, another resident arrived at the property and, according to the victim's account, after entering the house, returned carrying a knife, lunging at her and causing injuries to her wrist and hand.
Even though she was wounded, the victim managed to break free from the attacker and sought immediate medical attention, requiring suturing due to the cuts she sustained.
The police team went to the address where the incident occurred and contacted the other person involved, who presented a different version of events. He stated that upon arriving at the residence, he noticed someone inside the property, which caused him fear. He further claimed that he grabbed a knife to defend himself, believing he was protecting his home and family, and that he did not intend to cause injury, only to scare away the alleged intruder.
The victim expressed interest in filing criminal charges against the perpetrator. Given the facts, a police report was filed and the appropriate procedures were followed, with the parties duly advised by the police team.
