Two women were killed with ax blows this Wednesday morning (26), in Tamarana, in northern Paraná. According to the Military Police (PM), they are the mother and sister-in-law of the suspect who committed the crimes.
There is a suspicion that the man was having a psychotic break. After committing the crimes, still according to the police, the suspect fled the scene, but was located in a neighboring house, where he hid.
The suspect, identified as Jorge Sidney Prestes, 45, was arrested and taken to the Civil Police station in Londrina.
A relative of the victims said that the suspect was diagnosed with schizophrenia, the family tried to hospitalize him, but failed.
Jorge's mother, Maria da Luz Prestes, aged 65, and the wife of the suspect's brother, named Beatriz, died at the scene.
Beatriz's 2-year-old son was injured and taken to a hospital.
