A 37-year-old woman died in an accident involving a Hyundai Azera and a BMW 120I, in the early hours of this Sunday (27), at km 186 of BR-376, in Sarandi. Both vehicles were carrying five occupants.
According to the PRF (Federal Highway Police), the lateral collision occurred when the Azera was executing a regulated return on the highway, while the BMW was traveling from Marialva to Maringá.
The passenger in the Azera did not survive her injuries and died at the scene. The driver and the other passengers in the vehicle were taken to hospitals in the region in serious condition.
The driver of the BMW, a 21-year-old man, and another passenger were uninjured, but three others were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The incident mobilized PRF teams, four SAMU (Mobile Emergency Care Service) ambulances, three Fire Department vehicles, as well as agents from DER (Department of Highways), the Scientific Police Forensics Department and the IML (Legal Medical Institute).
