ANDIRÁ: VEHICLE RECOVERED
On Monday afternoon, during a traffic enforcement operation, a Military Police team attempted to stop a suspicious vehicle in the urban area of the municipality. The car, a black Chevrolet Tracker SUV occupied by two men, made a sudden maneuver upon noticing the police vehicle and sped off towards another neighborhood in the city. Due to the traffic violation, the police officers began pursuit and, during the action, discovered through an information system that the vehicle had a theft alert registered in the state of São Paulo. The vehicle was stopped minutes later on a public road, where the occupants were apprehended without any illicit items being found on their person. During the vehicle inspection, the police found cell phones and a wallet containing personal documents in the name of a third party. The occupants were informed that they would be taken to the police station for questioning about the origin of the vehicle. At the time of the arrest, both individuals demonstrated nervousness and resistance to police orders, making it necessary to use moderate and proportionate force to restrain them, including the use of handcuffs, given the risk of escape and the attempt to damage one of the seized items. The individuals involved were taken to a hospital for a medical examination and subsequently presented to the Civil Police Station, where the case was formally registered. The vehicle and other seized items were handed over to the police authority.
