CORNELIO PROCOPIO: TO ACQUIRE, SELL, SUPPLY AND/OR PRODUCE DRUGS
Late Thursday afternoon, ROTAM teams conducted a police operation following a tip-off indicating drug trafficking in a neighborhood. The information suggested that narcotics were being sold in the area, with some of the material hidden in a wooded area near a residence. During patrol, officers located a spot amidst the dense vegetation showing signs of frequent drug use, where they found packaging commonly used for drugs, such as microtubes and ziplock plastic bags. Subsequently, an individual matching the description in the tip-off was seen accessing the location and retrieving a buried object. He was approached and, after investigation, it was determined that the material was a portion of a substance similar to marijuana, weighing approximately 820 grams. Given the flagrant offense, the suspect was apprehended, informed of his legal rights, and taken into custody for the appropriate legal procedures. Following up on the incident, teams conducted searches at the teenager's residence, with formal authorization from his legal guardian, where they seized other portions of narcotics, including marijuana and cocaine, as well as cash, packaging materials, and cell phones. The teenager was taken for routine medical attention and subsequently presented to the Civil Police Station, where the case was placed at the disposal of the police authority. The legal guardians accompanied the procedures.
