A 44-year-old man, suspected of raping his own daughters and attempting to kill his wife, died after a confrontation with the Military Police on Friday afternoon (9), in the rural area of Jaguapitã (Londrina Metropolitan Region). The incident was recorded on Estrada São Benedito and mobilized teams from the 15th Battalion of the Military Police and Rotam.

The Military Police were called to respond to a report of domestic violence. At the scene, officers found the man in an extremely aggressive state, attempting to attack his wife and making death threats with a knife. Upon the officers' approach, the suspect fled towards a wooded area near the residence.

With the reinforcement of the ROTAM (Special Tactical Operations Unit), the police began searching and located the man, who was still armed. According to the Military Police, he attempted to attack the team, which led to police intervention. Shots were fired, and the suspect was shot. He did not survive his injuries and died at the scene.

According to the Military Police, the man had an extensive history of domestic violence. He had already been the subject of several police reports for threats and bodily harm against his wife, involving both bladed weapons and firearms. Furthermore, he was facing charges in court for the crime of rape of a vulnerable person, with his own daughters as victims.

The area was cordoned off for forensic work, and the case will be investigated by the competent authorities, in accordance with protocol for situations of death resulting from police intervention.
