A man died after a police intervention on Saturday night (10), on PR-445, at kilometer 27, between the district of Guaravera and the city of Tamarana (Londrina Metropolitan Region). The incident was recorded around 10:30 pm.
According to the Military Police, the Rural Patrol team received information that a suspect, known by the nickname "Oreia," was transporting weapons and drugs between Guaravera and Tamarana. Based on this information, the police intensified patrols on the highway.
During the operation, a motorcycle matching the reported description was located. Upon attempting to stop the vehicle, the driver allegedly disobeyed police orders and pointed a revolver at the officers. Faced with this perceived threat, the police fired shots, hitting the suspect.
Medical assistance was called, but the man succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene. The suspect's official identity has not been released.
During the incident, police seized a revolver and a quantity of a substance similar to marijuana, which will be weighed later. The relevant authorities have been notified to carry out the legal procedures and investigate the case.
