Capivariano beat Penapolense by 4-0, this Monday afternoon, in the opening of the 53rd São Paulo Junior Football Cup. The match - the first in this edition of the tournament - was played at the Tenente Carriço stadium, in Penápolis. Leão opened 2-0 in the first stage with two goals by Guilherme - the second in a beautiful free-kick. In the second half, Gabriel and Yuri gave final numbers to the match.
With the result, Capivari's team starts in front and adds the first three points in Group 10 of the competition. The round will be complemented with the match between Cruzeiro and Comercial-MS, at 3 pm.
For the second round of the Copinha, the two teams return to the field on Thursday, again at the Tenente Carriço stadium, in Penápolis. At 12:45 pm, Penapolense faces Comercial-MS. At 15:45 it is Capivariano's turn to measure forces with Cruzeiro.
The 53rd edition of Copinha has 128 teams divided into 32 groups. In the first phase, teams face each other within the bracket. The top two advance to the knockout stage, which will have five stages before the final.
The current champion of the Copa SP de Futebol Júnior is Palmeiras. The biggest winner of the tournament is Corinthians, with ten titles.
