Flamengo imposed its greatest technical quality, thrashed Maringá by 8 to 2 in Maracanã and secured a place in the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil. The result threw away the underdog that had appeared in the first leg, when the team from Paraná had surprised with a 2-0 victory.

Flamengo's goals were scored by Thiago Maia, Pedro (4), Gabigol, Gerson, Everton Cebolinha. Those from Maringá were Fabrício Bruno (against) and Bruno Lopes.
