São Paulo recently announced the resignation of coach Rogério Ceni. The end of the tricolor idol's second spell as the club's coach was decided at a meeting this Wednesday (19/04), at CT da Barra Funda.
Ceni's work has been called into question more recently. The fact that the team's performance did not improve with the weeks free for training, after the elimination of Tricolor in the Campeonato Paulista, still in the quarterfinals, against Água Santa, weighed negatively.
Even the club's main organized fans released a statement demanding Ceni's departure.
In this second passage as coach of São Paulo, Ceni led the team in 107 games, adding up to 50 wins, 29 draws and 28 defeats — a 56% success rate —. The best Tricolor campaigns during this period were the 2022 São Paulo runner-up and the South American runner-up, also last year.
