An accident with a Viação Garcia bus occurred early this Sunday (8), at km 5 of PR-855, in Bandeirantes, in the pioneering north of Paraná. According to information from the State Highway Police, the driver lost control and fell to the side of the highway around 1 am. The accident mobilized several rescue teams.

The bus, which made the line from Apucarana to São Paulo, was occupied by 44 passengers who were rescued by teams from Siate and Samu. Some victims were sent to hospitals in Cornélio Procópio, Bandeirantes, Santa Mariana and Andirá, but without risk of death.

The causes of the accident are yet to be investigated. Despite the seriousness of the situation, no victims were trapped inside the bus. The health status of the victims was not disclosed by hospitals.

According to PRE, the bus company sent another vehicle to bring passengers to Londrina and reported that it is providing all necessary support to those involved.
