The National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) approved the readjustment in the electricity tariffs of Companhia Paranaense de Energia (Copel) that begin to take effect on Friday (24). About five million consumer units will be affected by the measure.

As disclosed, the readjustment will be 1.5% for residential consumers, and 2.07% for customers served at low voltage.

Sought after, Copel reinforced that the readjustment index is the lowest registered in the country so far and that it was "much below" the accumulated inflation in the last 12 months, of almost 12%

The company also pointed out that the reduction of PIS/Cofins credits in the composition of the tariff after a court decision was decisive for the index to be the lowest at national level.
