Father and daughter, a 2-year-old girl, are missing after the family car was carried away by the current, in Irati, on Sunday night (8), around 9pm. According to the Fire Department, the family was passing through a flooded bridge in the Mato Queimado region, in the interior of the city, during heavy rain, when the force of the water rolled and dragged the vehicle with father, mother and daughter into the river.
The 26-year-old woman managed to get out of the car and grabbed a tree. She was rescued by firefighters with minor injuries and taken to the emergency room. The 35-year-old husband and 2-year-old daughter, however, remained in the car.
The searches have been carried out by the Irati Fire Department since Sunday night (8) and will continue this Monday (9).
