The Public Ministry of Paraná (MPPR) initiated a preliminary procedure to investigate the complaint about the use of an alleged monitoring system by the state government. The request was filed by the opposition bench of the Legislative Assembly.
The MPPR published a factual report on the case, which is an initial administrative instrument to investigate any request that reaches the unit. The bench wants the body to investigate the performance of the State Comptroller General's Intelligence Directorate (CGE) and whether the sector can have access to the Israeli telephone interception system acquired in 2019.
The alleged irregular use of this same system by the Brazilian Intelligence Agency (ABIN) is already being investigated by the Federal Police (PF).
