Governor Ratinho Junior (PSD) confirmed this Monday (20) that Paraná should have an increase in the ICMS rate . The measure will be sent to the Legislative Assembly as a way of compensating for any losses resulting from the tax reform.

According to the governor, the distribution of the tax reform proposal will cause states in the South, Southeast and Midwest to lose revenue. Ratinho also confirmed that the proposal is to increase ICMS by 0.5% and that state deputies will receive the text in November.

The head of the state executive expects the ICMS to be at 19.5% in Paraná in March or April 2024, as the measure only becomes valid 90 days after being sanctioned.
