As of this Saturday (11/19), the Federal Police will suspend the production of new passport booklets. According to the corporation, the measure stems from the insufficient budget allocated to migration control activities and the issuance of travel documents.
The service's online scheduling and service at PF posts will continue to function normally. However, there is no forecast for delivery of the requested passport until the budget situation is normalized.
According to the PF, users assisted at issuing posts until 11/18 will receive their passports normally. According to the statement, the other services provided by the PF will not be affected.
The Federal Police reported that it is closely monitoring the situation with the Federal Government in order to fully restore the service.
