An accident involving four vehicles occurred in Santa Mariana (northern Pioneer) in the late morning of this Monday (24th), after a head-on collision on the BR-369. A 62-year-old male driver of one of the vehicles died at the scene of the accident.
Teams from the Federal Highway Police, Military Police, Fire Department, Samu and Triunfo dealership performed the service and immediately provided help, but the driver of one of the vehicles, Ford/Ka, could not resist his injuries and died at the scene. Two other women in the same vehicle were taken to Hospital Santa Casa de Cornélio Procópio.
The driver of the other vehicle involved, GM Cobalt, was also rescued and is being taken to the same hospital. The other drivers of the other two cars hit left unharmed.
Traffic on the BR-369 was stopped at the site from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, but small vehicles were directed to a side road, on the side, thus flowing slowly.
